“Social enabled” software has been a buzz word in the HR/HCM industry over the last 3 years. This paper highlights some practical examples of how Social enabled software can accelerate your Human Capital Management processes.
Assumptions: This paper assumes you have a Human Capital Management (HCM) suite that has Social Software built in or can be added as an option.
In this example, Joanne (the Director of Marketing) has an objective to complete a new project by a certain deadline. The project is cross divisional, requiring people from various departments. Joanne sets up a ‘wall’ in SocialStreme, calling it Marketing Automation project. She then goes into her Performance Management plan and shares her objectives (via her Social enabled HCM software) and project deadline with the various stakeholders. These stakeholders in turn are able to see these objectives and timeframes. They start to contribute to the project - John posts the project plan to the Marketing Automation project wall, Harry from IT posts the required IT specifications and Bob the CFO posts his expected payback model.
As each interaction takes place, all people who have access to the wall can see each other’s posts, videos, images, photos, attachments, etc. This visibility accelerates the project, increases contributions from the entire project team as it’s easy to find, easy to make a contribution and is updated constantly. No one feels disconnected - on the contrary, they feel connected, involved and engaged.
The project is delivered faster, to a higher quality and on budget.
